Giving Back to the Community

The O.J. McDuffie Catch 81 Foundation measures its successes on the joy and help children receive from the endeavors of the foundation. We are more than a fundraising organization because we are dedicated to using every available resource on programs and activities for children. The proceeds received through fundraising efforts facilitate the support of underserved children in the South Florida community.

The Catch 81 Foundation develops events and programs that help reach children’s immediate needs. We also develop programs that will give children the tools they need to succeed in life. Through toy drives, football camps and other initiatives, the Catch 81 Foundation has been recognized as a charity that is truly committed to its mission of helping underserved children.
In addition to developing our own programs, the Catch 81 Foundation uses the money raised from the fundraising efforts to help other organizations with a similar mission. We find opportunities where the money from our fundraising efforts can be best utilized to help ensure better futures for the children in South Florida.

Some of the charities we partner with include:

The SOS Children’s Village – Florida

SOS Children’s Villages – Florida is home to up to seventy-five foster children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment. The Village setting allows brothers and sisters, often separated in foster care, to be reunited. The nurturing and support that SOS provides prepares them to be productive members of society. SOS is accredited by the Council of Accreditation, recognizing its continuing high standards and the quality services provided to foster children. The Florida Village is part of a worldwide network of over 450 villages caring for disadvantaged children.

Jack & Jill Children’s Center

Jack & Jill Children’s Center provides early childhood education and support to strengthen working families of Broward. The Sheridan House Single Parent Ministries

Since 1992, Sheridan House Family Ministries has partnered with the local church (Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties) to serve single moms in need.  Whether the need is physical, spiritual, emotional, or financial, they are committed to help today’s “widows and orphans.”

In an effort to better meet the needs of single moms in today’s world, their Single Parent Ministry offers more individualized and intensive training in areas such as finances, parenting, resume preparation and interviewing skills, meal planning on a budget, appropriate dress, and more.

The Boys & Girls Club, NFL YET Center

An increasing number of children are at home with no adult care or supervision. Young people need to know that someone cares about them.

Boys & Girls Clubs offer that and more. Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence.

The concept of the NFL Youth Education Town (YET) Center was born out of the desire of the National Football League to leave a lasting legacy to communities hosting a Super Bowl, and was founded on the philosophy that by coupling education with recreation, disadvantaged children can overcome the obstacles to success.

S.W.I.M.S. Foundation

The mission of S.W.I.M.S. is to provide safe water instruction to all children in South Florida, the basic elements of water safety to prevent drowning deaths and near drowning incidents.

The main objective of the program is that the children learn that if they fall into a body of water they would understand their danger and know how to stay afloat long enough, or how to swim to the side of the pool.

Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital

Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital is a Family-Centered Care facility designed to promote and support a mutually beneficial partnership between families and healthcare professionals in caring for children. The Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance

The Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance’s mission is to find a cure for tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) while improving the lives of those affected. Their vision is to bring about a day when no one has to endure the devastating effects of TSC.
