The 12th Annual O.J. McDuffie Spring Celebrity Golf Classic was once again a successful fundraising event. The festivities began on Friday, April 1, when guests arrived at the VIP Reception sponsored by BankAtlantic, which was held at the beautiful Signature Grand in Davie, Fla. Celebrities, golfers, sponsors and foundation supporters mingled, ate, drank and danced the night away. Jon Saxx, world renowned saxophone artist, captivated guests with his absolutely amazing performance. Joe Rose kept the crowd entertained as the master of ceremonies.
Golfers started arriving mid-morning on April 2 at Inverrary Golf and Country Club in Lauderhill, Fla. The weather was cooperative and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day. Premium goodie bags were handed out to golfers and celebrities upon arrival as they prepared for a day of friendly competition. Golfers had the opportunity to win over $100,000 in prizes, including a new luxury car. Unlimited foods and beverages were provided throughout the golf course, with O.J.’s 19th Hole sponsored by Publix being the center of fun. Music, food and a premium open bar were enjoyed by celebrities, golfers
and guests. Catch 81 would like to thank Randy Corinthian for his wonderful rendition of the National Anthem to start off the 12th Annual O.J. McDuffie Spring Celebrity Golf Classic.
A big congratulations is in order for the John Cahalin Family Foundation Team, who took first place. Douglas Smith, David Bond, Derrick Caglianone were the team members with Jeff Cross joining as the celebrity golfer. The second place title was earned by Daniel Gold, Glen Singer, Richard Charlton with Ki-Jana Carter as the celebrity golfer.
Thank you to Simon M. Azarnia, P.A., BankAtlantic, Herman Russomanno of Russomanno and Borrello, Publix, Republic National Distributing, Broward Health, Signature Grand, Inverrary Country Club and Empire Pizza for their support and contributions to make the 12th Annual Celebrity Golf Classic a success. Our additional sponsors and supporters were also important contributors that helped raise the funds that will benefit Catch 81 Foundation charities. The event was a major fundraiser that assisted the foundation in achieving its mission of providing financial assistance for the disadvantaged youth throughout South Florida.
